Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Beds: 8
- Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Night: 2 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Equipment: EKG, BiPAP/CPAP, heated high flow, cardiac respiratory monitor
- EMR System: Meditech
Job Description
- Provide cardiac monitoring, medication management, and respiratory support
- Post-surgical care and blood transfusions
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills required
- Opportunity to work with experienced staff and advanced equipment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
Additional Notes
- Candidates without the required skills and certifications will not be considered
