Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Number of Beds: 12
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2 or 1:3 (not guaranteed; Med/Surg ratios can be up to 1:6)
- Equipment: Monitors, CRRT, IV pumps, fluid warmers, blanket coolers
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
- Unit recognized as Unit of Distinction in 2021 and 2022
- Low hospital-associated infection rates
- Tenured staff with low turnover
- Flexible scheduling options
- Must be willing to float as needed to all three campus locations
Typical Procedures Performed
- Dialysis line insertion
- Arterial line insertion
- Central line insertion
- Cardioversion
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube insertion
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
