Description
Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) - Travel
Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (7 AM - 7 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (12-hour shifts)
Job Overview
- Provide competent nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients across all stages of growth and development (Pediatric to Geriatric).
- Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments.
- Deliver direct patient care and support the patient care team.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
- Demonstrate professional responsibility and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
- Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
- Understand conditions, procedures, and equipment related to surgical patients and anesthesia.
- Provide pre-operative and postoperative assessments and patient education, including evaluating Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
- Support timely completion of patient testing related to surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
