Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Cardiac Specialty) Travel Position

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Cardiac (Cardiac/CV Surgery)
  • Unit: Cardiovascular Surgery Department (CVSD)
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
  • Patient Ratio: 4:1
  • Number of Beds: 11
  • Float Requirements: May float to other ICUs and occasionally to med-surg units
  • Patient Population: Post cardiac surgery patients
  • Equipment: GE monitors
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA)

Required Experience and Skills

  • Valid RN license in Alabama
  • CVICU experience with 2 years of experience
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • Cardiac/CV surgery experience
  • Cardiac Stepdown experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Dress Code

  • Scrubs color: Navy
  • No fleece allowed
