MRI Tech - Radiology (Travel Position)

Location: Hudson, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Work primarily in the Imaging department on the MRI unit located on the 1st floor of the main hospital building.
• Typical shifts include Sat-Mon with 1-2 days on call per month.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
• Patient ratio is 1:1.
• Equipment used: GE Explorer Lift Signa 1.5T MRI scanner.
• EMR system: Meditech.
• Unit has 3 staff members and 1 bed.
• Procedures performed include:

  • Neuro exams (MRA’s, MRI’s of head, neck, spine)
  • Abdominal exams (MRCP’s, MRA’s, MRI’s of aorta, liver, kidneys)
  • MSK exams (extremities, arthrograms)
• Software upgrade planned to newest GE 30X with AirDL for faster scans and new neuro and abdominal sequences. Future plans include adding a second scanner and department growth.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
• ARRT (MR) Certification
• BLS Certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to work independently with Radiologist availability for questions.
• Provide excellent patient care while maintaining MRI safety.
• Friendly personality with excellent communication skills (phone and in person).
• Team player who contributes to a relaxed and positive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to adapt MRI protocols for patient or physician needs.
• Willingness to learn new procedures through onsite and virtual training.

Additional Information

• On-call requirement: 1-2 days per month.
• Parking available anywhere except ER parking.
• Scrub color for Radiology staff: Black.
• The unit follows many safety and exam protocols built into the scanner for easy access.
