Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job in North Carolina
Location
- City: Huntersville, North Carolina
Job Type

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Hours per day: 8
- Hours per week: 40
- No call, float, or weekend requirements
Patient Population & Setting
- Adult outpatient clinic
- Average daily census: 25 patients
- Patient diagnoses range from benign diseases to cancer
- 99% outpatient, 1% inpatient
Specialty & Required Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapy focus)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
- Prior travel experience: Not required (can screen for first-time travelers)
Required Skills and Certifications
- Must have experience with ARIA and True Beam treatment units
- Treatment skills: External Beam Therapy
- Record & Verify Systems: Varis-Vision and ARIA
- Certification: ARRT (Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist - T)
- Work setting skills: Adult outpatient
- Radiation Badge required
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- CT Simulation and simulation of treatment sites
- Imaging: CBCT, kV, mV imaging
- Treatments including IMRT, SRS, SBRT, benign brain tumors, prostate cancer with seeds/fiducials, respiratory gating, keloids, heterotopic bone
- Experience with Vision RT treatment units
- BLS certification preferred
Special Procedures and Equipment
- Special procedures: Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Equipment: True Beam linear accelerator
- Unit systems: ARIA and Epic
Orientation and Onboarding
- No dimensions or orientation needed; traveler will start directly in the clinic
- Unit orientation provided as needed
- Scrubs: Royal Blue (not provided)
Patient Ratios and Workload
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Rooms: 1
- Visits per day: 25
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (or proof of past positive TB with appropriate documentation)
- Required immunizations and titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Physical exam not required for this crisis profile
- Radiation badge required and will be provided for this assignment
- Medication Safety training certificate required
- Annual compliance and facility-specific education modules required
- Photo for badge (passport style, solid white background, business attire) must be submitted promptly after signing contract
- Confidentiality agreement and other facility-specific forms required prior to start
- Competency exams and color blindness testing required as applicable
Important Notes
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation
- Traveler must have ARIA and True Beam experience; no prior orientation or dimensions needed onsite
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season; exemptions require mask-wearing on campus
- Corp ID and I-Learn account setup required within 24 hours of receiving email instructions to avoid start delays
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist (T) certification
- Experience working in an outpatient setting
