Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Nights)
Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Participate in formulating patient care plans.
- Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment plans.
- Provide medication education to patients and families.
- Observe and accurately document patients’ emotional and mental status.
- Conduct teaching and educational groups as scheduled.
- Train LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.
- Actively participate in Performance Improvement teams or other unit task forces.
- Accept educational or lecture assignments as directed.
- Maintain current Therapeutic Options certification.
- Serve as a positive role model in language, dress, hygiene, and behavior.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Oklahoma.
- Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
- Therapeutic Options certification (must be kept current).
Preferred Qualifications
- De-escalation training.
- Recent travel nursing experience.
Additional Information
- Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate.
- Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays.
- On-call pay is provided with a minimum of 1 hour.
- Former direct employees of the facility are not eligible for agency placement until 6 months after direct employment ends.
Note: This position involves working in a behavioral health setting during night shifts with 12-hour shifts.
