Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Nights)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Participate in formulating patient care plans.
• Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment plans.
• Provide medication education to patients and families.
• Observe and accurately document patients’ emotional and mental status.
• Conduct teaching and educational groups as scheduled.
• Train LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.
• Actively participate in Performance Improvement teams or other unit task forces.
• Accept educational or lecture assignments as directed.
• Maintain current Therapeutic Options certification.
• Serve as a positive role model in language, dress, hygiene, and behavior.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Oklahoma.
• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Therapeutic Options certification (must be kept current).

Preferred Qualifications

• De-escalation training.
• Recent travel nursing experience.

Additional Information

• Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate.
• Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays.
• On-call pay is provided with a minimum of 1 hour.
• Former direct employees of the facility are not eligible for agency placement until 6 months after direct employment ends.

Note: This position involves working in a behavioral health setting during night shifts with 12-hour shifts.
