Description
Registered Nurse - Pain Management
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary
Provide independent nursing care in pain procedures, pre-operative, operating room (OR), and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings. Deliver routine and complex care while managing clinical situations, delegating tasks appropriately, and addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers.
- Meet leadership competencies related to self, others, and team leadership.
- Fulfill weekend, on-call, and floating requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in pain management, pre-operative, operating room (OR), and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing, with PACU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Additional Information
- This is a full-time travel assignment.
- Weekend, on-call, and floating duties are required.
