Description
Surgical Tech - Indiana (Fort Wayne)
Job Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (approximately 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM), 12-hour shifts
- Hours per Week: 36-40 hours
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, call required (weekday/night call about every 7-10 days; full weekend call every 5-6 weeks)
- Call Off Policy: Client may cancel up to 24 hours before the shift during the 13-week assignment
- Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation; clinicians returning within 12 months of last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation
- Floating: May float to General, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVOR)
- Dress Code: Surgery scrubs provided
Job Description
- Primarily involved in Neuro cases; strong neuro experience is required
- Responsible for anticipating, planning, and responding to the needs of patients, surgeons, and team members in the perioperative environment
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and team information
- Utilizes EPIC electronic systems for charting and medication management
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA (TS-C or grandfathered certifications NOT accepted)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Call is required
- Prior travel experience preferred (2 years preferred but not mandatory)
Additional Notes
- Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a rate reduction (not included here)
- Facility will not consider alternative shifts or guarantee block scheduling
