Description
Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery
Location: Bradenton, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Level II Trauma Center outpatient services including Pre-Op, Phase 2, Preadmission Testing, and Infusion Center
- Unit has 26 Pre-Op bays and 8 Endoscopy bays
- Staffed by approximately 27 nurses per day
- Unit operates from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM with various shift lengths (8, 10, 12 hours)
- No night shift; call requirement applies
- Patient ratios vary by area:
- Pre-Op: 1:1
- Phase 2: 3-5:1
- Infusion: 5:1
- EMR system used: Meditech (some familiarity preferred)
- Typical procedures include assisting anesthesia with nerve blocks
- Team-oriented culture with approachable surgeons and anesthesiologists
- Busy environment with no negative workplace dynamics
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Outpatient Surgery, with recent experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting, including Pre-Op and Infusion areas
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Variable call schedule; expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff
