Registered Nurse – Inpatient Rehab (Night Shift)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend (Friday and Saturday nights); Sunday shifts considered part of regular workweek with some flexibility possible

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on an inpatient rehabilitation unit, performing similar duties as a medical floor except no Heparin drips
• Care for a high neuro patient population; stroke certification is a plus but not required
• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate patients and their responsible persons with explanations and instructions
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Manage workplace conflict professionally to contribute to a healthy environment
• Fulfill Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records
• Participate in continuing education opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is required for this position
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in nursing specialty (inpatient rehab or related area preferred)
