Physical Therapist (PT) - Wichita, Kansas

Job Details

  • Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Patient Focus: Primarily neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, multi-trauma, post spine surgery
  • Typical Caseload: 4-6 patients per day
  • Billing Expectation: 24 units per day
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating weekends
  • Shift Hours: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Kansas
  • Minimum of 2 years of Physical Therapist experience
  • Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Clinical and Documentation Requirements

  • Experience with electronic medical records, specifically Cerner/Onechart
  • Ability to perform evaluations and treatments for neurological rehab patients

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Professional credentials including:
    • Resume/Profile
    • At least two professional references
    • Criminal background check (including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry)
    • Employment verification for the past seven years
    • Education verification relevant to clinical work
    • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation
  • Health and Immunization requirements:
    • Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be completed onsite)
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for tuberculosis with annual updates; if positive, chest X-ray required
    • Health statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
    • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Identification:
    • Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records)

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), mask wearing is required
  • Skills checklist for specialty to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
  • Background and employment verifications must be updated annually or if break in service exceeds 90 days
