Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Total Hours per Week: 36
- May be required to float to other units
- Estimated patient ratios: Not specified
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Education verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual background monitoring through First Advantage Workforce Monitoring
- Completion of a unit-specific competency exam and medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
- Physical exam documentation within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; pending fingerprint attestation allowed under specific conditions
- High school diploma or GED verification required
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted with documentation
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Annual completion of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate prior to start and updated annually
- Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies (required for new contracts signed 11/7/24 and beyond)
- Fit mask testing required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles starting with contracts on or after 7/13/2026; onsite fit testing available if needed

- All certifications must be current and verifiable; facility does not accept letters of completion, only official certifications from recognized bodies (AHA for BLS, ACLS, NRP)
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and background checks prior to start to avoid cancellation
