Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location

  • City: Kinston, North Carolina

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM)
  • Every other week (EOW) / every other holiday (EOH)
  • No call, no block scheduling
  • No local travelers within a 50-mile radius

Unit Details

  • Emergency Department with 34 beds
  • Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics
  • Approximately 100 patient visits per day
  • Includes triage area and telemetry
  • May involve conscious sedation
  • ED provider team includes MDs and PAs
  • Use of Epic electronic health record and Pyxis medication system

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

However Rachel at Host is my Recruiter and has done an incredible job of cutting through the red tape and doing a lot of hand holding through the initial process.
