Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel)
Location
- Lewiston, Maine
Job Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Med-Surg/Oncology unit
- Trauma Level III facility
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Patient diagnoses commonly include cancer, diabetes mellitus (DM), pneumonia (PNA), and general surgery cases
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- No call requirements
- Float to all inpatient areas
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Surgical experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Skills & Experience
- Experience with wound vacs, Prevena vacs, and Baxter IV pumps
- Familiarity with cancer care and general surgery patient management
- Comfortable working in a relationship-based care environment
- Flexibility in scheduling
Technology & Equipment
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): EPIC (effective 5/1/26), Omnicell, SBAR
- Equipment used includes wound vacs, Prevena vacs, and Baxter IV pumps
