Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel)

Location

Lewiston, Maine

Job Type

Travel assignment
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Med-Surg/Oncology unit
Trauma Level III facility
Patient ratio: 1:6
Patient diagnoses commonly include cancer, diabetes mellitus (DM), pneumonia (PNA), and general surgery cases

Schedule & Hours

Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
No call requirements
Float to all inpatient areas

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Surgical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Skills & Experience

Experience with wound vacs, Prevena vacs, and Baxter IV pumps
Familiarity with cancer care and general surgery patient management
Comfortable working in a relationship-based care environment
Flexibility in scheduling

Technology & Equipment

Electronic Health Records (EHR): EPIC (effective 5/1/26), Omnicell, SBAR
Equipment used includes wound vacs, Prevena vacs, and Baxter IV pumps

Dress code scrub color: Navy Blue
Facility size: 190 beds
Provides 24/7 Emergency Care and multiple specialty services including cardiovascular, cancer, orthopedic, women’s and children’s health, and primary care
