Description
MRI Technologist Travel/Contract Position
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures.
- Preferably experienced in one or more of the following modalities: General Radiology, Angio/Cath Lab, Computed Tomography (CT).
- Work in an acute care hospital setting.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Radiology Technologist.
- Experience in one or more of the following modalities: Cath Lab, CT, or MRI.
- Experience working in an acute care setting.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 - 06:30).
- Includes Saturday and Sunday shifts plus 1 variable shift during the week.
- Rotating on-call and variable weekends.
- Total hours per week: 36.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Radiography certification OR
- ARMRIT Certified MRI Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable.
- Education verification required unless highest education is high school.
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to California law).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any work restrictions documented.
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually, with negative TB test or chest x-ray as required.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests).
- Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season. Religious and medical exemptions considered with proper documentation.
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually.
Additional Requirements
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps over 30 days.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
- Professional references: 2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- Completion of any required competency exams or pass/fail testing as applicable.
