Job Description
- Provide care for patients pre-op, and during Phase I and Phase II recovery in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Requires advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track patient stability or complications.
- Critical thinking skills are essential.
- Experience in critical care and surgical nursing is highly valued.
- Equipment used includes Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Hawaii.
- Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a critical care RN in a hospital setting, including Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
Schedule
- Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours.
- May include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- No guarantee of specific hours or shift preference.
- On-call shifts required 0-3 times per month (8-hour night shifts and 24-hour weekend/holiday coverage).
Additional Information
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
- Flu vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance.
