CVOR Tech (Surgical Services) - Travel/Contract
Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Shift: Day shift, 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Surgical Technologist with Cardiothoracic (CVOR) experience required.
- Patient ratio: 1:1.
- Rotating weekends, call (every other week and one weekday), and holidays.
- Must be within 30 minutes of the facility when on call.
- No first-time travelers accepted.
- Locals not accepted.
- Open to block scheduling.
- Start date: ASAP.
- No flu vaccine exemptions allowed for travelers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Services experience.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only (RQI acceptable)
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – NBSTSA certification required
- Valid Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
- Background checks including:
- Comprehensive background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals.
- Education verification required; relevant education or equivalent work history accepted.
- Kentucky-specific Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check required.
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Complete employment application with 7-year work history.
- Performance evaluation by a manager within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Skills checklist and work history verification updated annually.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Fit mask test (N95 3M 1860 Small/Regular or 1870+) within 1 year, updated annually.
- Negative TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 2 months of start; annual updates required.
- Immunizations required with official documentation (no declinations accepted):
- Measles (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Mumps (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Rubella (1 vaccine or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Negative 13-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; includes common substances and opioids.
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually with documentation; no exemptions allowed.
- COVID-19 vaccination, exemption, or declination required for reporting purposes (will not prevent start).

- CBL training modules 1-8 prior to start
- Badge photo required on white or cream background with specific facial piercing restrictions.
- Onsite drug screen during orientation; prescriptions must be available if applicable.
- Random drug screening may be required during contract.
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures.
On-Call & Scheduling
- Rotating call schedule: every other week plus one weekday call.
- Must remain within 30 minutes of the facility when on call.
- Rotating weekends and holidays required.
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Surgical Technologists with cardiothoracic experience who are ready for a travel contract and meet all certification, health, and compliance requirements.
