Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Summary

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 14-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4.
• Facility serves all age groups.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend/as needed.
• Call requirements: As needed.
• Float requirements: As needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.

Work Environment & Culture

• Joint Commission-accredited, 107-bed facility with all private rooms.
• Emergency Department serves as sole acute care provider in the region.
• Professional demeanor expected.
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color; casual wear is not acceptable.

• Orientation sessions held weekly on Mondays.
• Electronic Health Record system used: MedHost.
• Typical patient diagnoses and treatments vary widely.

Note: Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status.
