Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Marquette, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- 24-bed unit specializing in Neuro, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics
- Patient population includes all ages over 28 days
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Trauma Level 2 facility
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Paragon (transitioning to Cerner on 3/1/24)
- Shift: Night shift
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- No call requirements
- Float required to inpatient units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Experience
- At least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Experience with trauma and post-operative orthopedic/neurosurgical patients
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Additional Information
- Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs; refer to employer dress code policy for unacceptable attire
- Personality fit: Teamwork and collaboration emphasized
- Float assignments include various inpatient units
Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status.
