Location: Garrison, North Dakota

• Unit Size: 26 beds
• EMR System: Matrix
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Day shift: 1:10
  • Night shift: 1:19
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Heart disease, diabetes, dementia
• Oxygen Therapy: Concentrators and portable concentrators available
• Pharmacy: Off-site medication dispensing system
• Rehab Services: No rehab beds; PT available as needed
• Respiratory Therapy: No RT on-site 24/7
• Telemetry Monitors: None

Job Duties

• Act as charge nurse
• Pass medications
• Perform wound care

Scheduling & Requirements

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other major holiday
• No call, standby, or floating requirements
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
• Dress Code: No specific scrub color; must be clean and presentable

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Dakota
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) setting
• Experience in charge nurse roles

Additional Information

• No IVs or titratable drips on unit
• No team conferences for acute inpatient rehab required
• Physician available by phone on-call after hours
• Interdisciplinary team includes social worker designee
• Radius Rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any related facilities
• Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals

This position is ideal for an RN with LTC experience seeking a 13-week contract in a small long-term care setting with stable patient ratios and no clinical involvement beyond nursing duties.
