Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Reno, Nevada

Job Details

• Department: Telemetry Unit (South Meadows Telemetry)
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Call Requirements: None
• Floating: May be required to float to ICU, medical-surgical units, or other telemetry-appropriate assignments based on competency
• Work Environment: Extremely busy, fast-paced Level II Trauma Center with stroke accreditation; patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Patient Population & Care Focus

• Treatment of CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID-19
• Post-procedure care including pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and post-ICU cardiac surgery patients
• Medications include non-titratable cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

• May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the contract period
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and occasional call shifts
• Employer reserves the right to reduce shifts or call off with 48 hours’ notice due to low census
• Position requires strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and the ability to coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams
• Focus on delivering patient-centered care with attention to cognitive and psychosocial needs of patients and families
