Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location
- Marquette, Michigan (Central region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula)

- Travel assignment
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Unit and Patient Population
- Unit: Neuro/Ortho/Pediatrics (7th Floor)
- Number of beds: 24
- Patient ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Patient population: All ages over 28 days, including adults and pediatrics
- Common diagnoses/treatments: Trauma, post-operative ortho/neuro, general pediatric cases (0-3 rooms on average)
Shift and Hours
- Night shift
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- No call requirements
- Float required to inpatient units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Skills and Experience
- Must have 2+ years experience caring for adult patients
- Preferred: 2+ years experience with pediatric patients
- Experience with trauma and post-operative ortho/neuro patients preferred
- Teamwork and collaboration skills emphasized
Technology and Equipment
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: currently Paragon, transitioning to Cerner on 3/1/24
Additional Information
- Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs; refer to facility dress code policy for unacceptable attire
- Float to other inpatient units as needed
