Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Call: No call required
Job Description
- Must hold dual certification in Echocardiography and Vascular Technology.
- Required certifications:
- Registered in vascular technology (ARDMS-RVT or CCI-RVS)
- Registered in echocardiography (ARDMS-AE and/or ARDMS-PE or CCI-RCS)
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required.
- Strictly no submissions without dual certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
- Experience as a Vascular Technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential from ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification.
- Experience working with Epic electronic health record system.
Certifications & Training (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC approved.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) if required by unit.
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC, PALS, NRP) – check unit specifics.
- Annual core competencies including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA bloodborne pathogens training, and patient safety goals.
- Medication and arrhythmia competency testing may be required.
Compliance & Documentation
- Must provide verifiable education credentials (diplomas not accepted as placeholders).
- Background checks, including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG, must be current and updated as required.
- Fingerprinting may be required based on residency history.
- Badge photo must meet facility specifications (passport style, plain background, no obstructions).
- Must sign facility-specific policies such as floating policy and contractor acknowledgment.
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication may be required depending on role.

- No call responsibilities.
- Night shift schedule with 3 shifts per week.
- Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable.
- Candidates must be prepared to complete all required testing and orientation modules timely to avoid delays or cancellations.
