Registered Nurse – EP Lab
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs.
- Unit has 23 prep/recovery bays and performs over 6,000 advanced cardiovascular procedures annually.
- Procedures include complex coronary interventions, VAD/ECMO, structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping), complex ablations, pacemaker/ICD implant/explant, cardioversion, pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation, peripheral interventions, and pulmonary embolectomy.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Schedule
- Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM).
- Must be willing to stay until last patient is cared for.
- No weekends, no holidays, no call required.
- Floating as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Lab experience within the last year.
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) Search required 3 business days prior to start; renewed every 5 years.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized before start.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment.
- Education verification of highest degree required.
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (Aya requirement only).
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Fit mask testing within 1 year of start; annual updates required.
- Vaccinations or positive titers required for:
- Hepatitis B (full series or positive titer; declination form required if applicable)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titers; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination
- Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted).
- For positive TB results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
Additional Facility Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (no masks, hats, sunglasses; religious headwear allowed).
- Completion of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
- Commitment to Health & Wellness.
- Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality Agreement.
- Non-Employee Affidavit.
- I9 and E-Verify attestations.
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start.
- New hire orientation required by end of first day.
Other Notes
- Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days.
- Manager interview required after clinical screening.
- No call or holiday shifts.
- Floating as needed.
- Local rate is slightly below posted rate (pay details excluded per instructions).
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with EP Lab and Cardiac Cath Lab skills seeking a travel contract in a high-volume invasive cardiology setting.
