Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Toledo, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekend Requirements: Saturday rotation only; no other weekends, holidays, or on-call


Job Description

  • Position in Nuclear Medicine for the Heart Station department
  • Emphasis on Nuclear Cardiology with SPECT Imaging
  • Computer training preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate degree or higher in an Allied Health Field

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year in specialty (Nuclear Cardiology) required
  • No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only) required
  • Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated if there is a gap of more than 3 years between assignments
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • EKG competency exam may be required if cardiac monitoring is involved (confirm with facility)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
  • Background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Online Abuser Registry search required
  • Fingerprinting required only for specific departments (not applicable here unless assigned to those areas)
  • Employment application and verification of last 3 years of work history required
  • Two professional references within 2 years of start required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (required by credentialing, not client)
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually (exceptions apply)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer or full series or signed declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; annual TB questionnaire required
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; re-test required if gap >6 months between assignments
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required for clearance (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred but not required

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of various facility-specific documents and attestations prior to or shortly after start date, including:
    • Background authorization and disclosure
    • Affiliate access form
    • Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire (sent directly to facility)
    • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
    • Drug-free workplace agreement
    • Standards of conduct, ethics, expected behaviors, and invention reporting acknowledgements
    • Agency onboarding slideshow and attestation

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to perform duties in a clinical setting with physical demands as noted above
  • Radiation badge provided by facility if assigned to Cath Lab unit (not specified for this role)
