Description

Echovascular Sonographer (Contract)

Location: Chillicothe, Ohio
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Shift: Variable (either 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, depending on unit needs)
Holidays/Call: No holidays, no on-call required


Job Description

  • Perform noninvasive vascular and cardiac testing according to protocols, including:
    • Echocardiograms
    • Carotid ultrasound
    • Peripheral vascular resistance (PVR)
    • Segmental pressures
    • Transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TCPO2)
    • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) resting echoes
    • Stress echoes (dobutamine and treadmill)
    • Venous and arterial ultrasound
  • Interpret and document procedures and reports per protocols
  • Communicate preliminary and final reports
  • Maintain accurate patient files and clean work area
  • Maintain and care for equipment
  • Assist in training students and new employees
  • Maintain continuing education units (CEUs) and provide information required by accreditation bodies
  • Contribute to ongoing departmental improvement processes

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Vascular Sonographer
  • Registered with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) and/or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) credentials
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of prior travel experience preferred (not required)
