Description
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Travel Position
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke and Level III neonatal intensive care units
- Pediatric emergency room with 30 pediatric subspecialists
- Busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas
- Only open heart and interventional cardiology program in the region
- Unit: Respiratory Services
- Number of Beds: 854
- Staff: Approximately 120 respiratory therapists
- Shifts:
- Day: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Night: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
- Equipment: GE R860 Adult vents, Draeger Infant/Peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 Non-invasive device, Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- EMR System: Cerner
- Floating: All critical care units and floors
- Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
- Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
