Description
Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Specialty: Orthopedic/Spine
- Unit Type: Orthopedic/Spine care including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal injuries
- Facility Size: 345 beds, 3-time Magnet Designation
- Staffing: Float pool of about 80 staff; day and night shifts staffed by RNs and CNAs
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 (varies by unit and shift)
- Equipment: Various orthopedic-related equipment
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience within the last year
- Acute care experience including medical-surgical (Med Surg) nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- Chemotherapy certification (for potential scheduling on Oncology unit)

- Provide nursing care for orthopedic patients including those undergoing joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal injury treatment
