Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool

Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (12-hour shifts)
Unit: MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool (floats primarily to 6N, 7N, 4N, 5S, 6S, and Critical Care units)


Job Overview

  • Float pool RN assigned a "parent unit" but may float to multiple med-surg and telemetry units.
  • Patient acuity varies; primarily basic telemetry patients.
  • Must be able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips.
  • No drip titration required.
  • Charge nurse available 24/7; night charge nurse takes patient assignments.
  • CNAs support nursing staff on all units.
  • Respiratory therapy manages CPAP and BiPAP; nurses are not responsible for respiratory equipment management.

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

Required Certifications & Qualifications

  • Current RN license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam prior to assignment (ACLS-trained RNs expected to pass easily).

Experience Requirements
