Description

Respiratory Therapist - West Valley, Utah

Job Details

Location: West Valley, Utah (Salt Lake City area)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Schedule: Every other weekend required
On-call: Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of scheduled hours (6pm-6am; every other weekend)
Orientation: Week of orientation requires being in-state, even if some modules are remote
Work Hours: May include standard shifts, flexible hours before/after shifts, and possible overtime exceeding 40 hours per week

Job Description

Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and revise therapy plans as needed
Conduct diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy assistance, and pulse oximetry
Transport patients within the hospital or between facilities

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
Current certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred
Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Valid driver’s license required

Additional Notes

This position may require working alone as the only respiratory therapist on site at times
Radius for travel or commute consideration: 60 miles
