Description
Registered Nurse - Observation
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Shift: Trauma and Travel required
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders.
- Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data; observes patient manifestations and intervenes as necessary.
- Administers prescribed medications.
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Delivers competent patient care.
- Communicates care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Informs patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegates tasks to support staff.
- Performs other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Oklahoma.
- Experience in observation nursing or related acute care setting.
- Ability to work trauma shifts and travel as required.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is required.
- This position involves working in a trauma environment and requires flexibility for travel assignments.
