Surgery Tech Position – Colorado, Lafayette

Job Summary

• Perform various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure.
• Function under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management.
• Support surgical operations initiatives and participate in the surgical operations safety plan.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for operating room and surgical items sterilization.
• Maintain the sterile field and ensure a safe environment.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures within the scope of practice.
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience within the last year.
• Surgical Technologist experience.

Education

• Completion of a surgical technology program that is not accredited, finished within the last six months.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist.

Shift & Hours

• Day shift.
• 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• Shift options: 4 ten-hour shifts or 3 twelve-hour shifts (to be discussed).
• On-call availability to be discussed during interview.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.
