Registered Nurse (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum Unit) - Travel Position
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical care specific to the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit. The RN coordinates and implements patient care, ensuring quality and safety consistent with unit standards. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans while demonstrating professionalism and respect toward patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and establish priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Re-assess patients regularly to monitor progress and identify needs for intervention.
- Develop and implement measurable individualized care plans within established nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Document timely interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
- Demonstrate leadership competencies appropriate to the role.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid RN license in New Mexico.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) nursing experience within the last year.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized nursing role focused on maternal and newborn care within a supportive clinical environment.
