Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health
Location: West Burlington, Iowa (will work at both West Burlington and Fort Madison campuses based on staffing needs)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to patients in Behavioral Health settings, including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, Psychiatric, Substance Abuse, and Detoxification populations.
- Participate in the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with the healthcare team.
- Monitor, observe, and report patient reactions to treatments and behavioral changes.
- Maintain professional nursing standards while interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Work hours:
- West Burlington Campus: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Fort Madison Campus: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Occasional on-call availability may be required during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour if called in.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
- Minimum of 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience working with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Information
- Must be able to work flexible shifts at two campuses as needed.
- High standards of professional nursing and teamwork expected.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
This position is ideal for RNs with behavioral health experience who are comfortable working in multiple settings and have recent Epic experience.
