Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Paris, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days a week (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: 1 day per week plus 1 weekend day per month (Friday-Saturday-Sunday rotation)
• Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the last year
• Minimum 1 year experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care Unit (CCU)
• Travel nursing experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including nationwide and international searches if applicable
• Employment eligibility verification (I-9) required
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if prior positive
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) with booster if titers low/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B titer or series with booster or signed declination if applicable
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer with booster if titers low/equivocal
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31); no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Certification required for RNs (AHA, Apex, or HealthStream; not required for Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, or NICU)
• Medication and competency exams as applicable to profession
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Additional Notes

• Candidates will be interviewed prior to placement
• EPIC test out required for all candidates except those assigned to this specific hospital; candidates have one attempt to pass, or contract will be cancelled
• N95 fit test required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually; no PAPR allowed
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with recent Epic experience, critical care or emergency department background, and prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Tennessee.
