Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Randallstown, Maryland
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Schedule: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Full-time with weekend rotation
Required Experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2 years of experience preferred
OR - Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 5 years of experience
- Adult Critical Care or Emergency Department experience required
- Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Current, valid RRT license for Maryland
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA Provider Certification or equivalent)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA Provider Certification or equivalent)
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID); temporary paper receipt accepted only as placeholder until official ID is received
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Employment application and work history verification for last 7 years (verification can be pending at start)
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
- Negative TB test (PPD, GOLD, or TSPOT) or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant screen accepted as placeholder)
- Immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters or proof of chickenpox history if negative)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Respirator fit test to be completed onsite; annual expiration required for new contracts
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams (Relias or Prophecy platforms only; must be renewed annually)
- EKG exam is time-sensitive with limited attempts; remediation required if failed
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required; stroke CEUs must be stroke-related and updated annually; trauma CEUs required after 27th week of work and renewed annually
- Attendance, floating, and time and attendance policies must be reviewed and signed
- Badge photo required for facility ID badge
- Parking registration form must be completed and signed
- Consent to release information form required prior to start
- ReadySet account setup and health assessment surveys must be completed before starting
Additional Notes
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start required for travel assignments
- Orientation includes acknowledgment of pass/fail testing policies
- Radiation badge not required for this role
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
