Unit Information
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Number of beds: 12
- Staff per shift:
- Day: 5-7 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (9a-5p M-F)
- Night: 5-6 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (5p-1a M-F)
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- EMR system in use
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge in Neurology and Cardiology
- Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Typical Procedures Performed
- STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) care
- Stroke management including TPA administration
- Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
Schedule & Hours
- Approximately 36 hours per week
