Description
Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
Job Description
Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data; intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, with Med Surg experience within the last year.
- Experience in Internal Medicine.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
