Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Valid Driver’s License.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Documentation of immunizations and health screenings prior to start and updated as required:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing required.
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test with annual TB questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed before start.
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Onboarding and Documentation
- Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, and National Sex Offender registry within 90 days prior to start.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
- Badge photo with specified background requirements.
- Completion of skills checklist and specialty exam prior to first assignment and updated every three years.
- Completion of unit-specific checklists and onboarding modules as required.
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and handle stressful situations.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
- Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
- Shift is daytime, starting early morning.
