Description

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cleveland, Ohio)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (48 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
  • Must work at least every other holiday.
  • Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam; passing scores required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio.
  • Minimum 1.5 years of CVICU experience, with experience within the last year.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment.
  • Background checks including:
    • FCRA-compliant 7-year criminal history search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monthly checks
    • FBI and BCI fingerprinting completed within 48 hours of contract signing, valid within 12 months, and updated annually. Facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
  • Education verification required for all candidates.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions; must include provider address.
  • Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually. PAPRs not provided for facial hair failure unless approved exemption submitted.
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titers with booster if needed
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
    • Hepatitis B – titer, series, or declination with agency-approved exemption
    • Annual flu vaccination/documentation required (no declinations accepted)
  • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually; instant drug screens not accepted.
  • Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start.

Onboarding & Facility Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start; must be done on a computer using Google Chrome.
  • Modules include training videos and tests that cannot be skipped.
  • Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
  • Resume/CV required with 3 years prior work history including at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area.
  • Two professional references required from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
  • Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation exams and module requirements.
  • Candidates must use their legal name consistently on all documentation and onboarding systems.
  • Prior travel experience is accepted but not explicitly required.
