Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Backfill position in a Level III Trauma Center with 48 beds (flex space included)
• Emergency Department setting with patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Shift: Mids (rotating shifts including 10am-10pm, 12pm-12am, 3pm-3am)
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Minimum two weekends scheduled per contract
• No call requirements
• Team nursing and Pod System model
• Social worker assigned to the department and unit educator available

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), Cirrhosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), psychiatric and substance abuse disorders
• Common presentations include trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, moderate sedation cases, abdominal pain, and chest pain

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC
• Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, and moderate sedation

• Zoll Defibrillator
• Level One Blood Transfuser
• QinFlow Blood Warmer
• Hospira Plum360 infusion pump
• Freestyle and iSTAT point-of-care testing devices
• Ultrasound-guided IV placement
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
