Interventional Radiology Technologist - Travel Position

Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Employment Type: Full-time, Travel

  • Large 650-bed hospital with inpatient and outpatient services
  • Experience in vascular and neuro procedures required

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists with complex vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures using fluoroscopy, CT, laser, and ultrasonography equipment. Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support smooth patient flow in Interventional labs
  • Perform circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures
  • Assist with patient care and patient teaching
  • Manage inventory and coordinate schedules
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Adapt patient care methods to meet individual needs (physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Perform examinations/procedures as needed within scope of competencies
  • Serve as PACS Superuser during downtime and escalate issues appropriately
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work other shifts or locations as needed
  • Promote staff growth, development, and employee engagement
  • Support physician satisfaction by assisting radiologists and referring physicians

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year

Licenses & Certifications

  • ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability at all times
  • Experience in vascular and neuro procedures is mandatory
