Description
Physical Therapist - Outpatient
Location: Dillon, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Description
- Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data analysis.
- Plan individualized care to meet holistic, age-specific patient needs.
- Provide appropriate interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and standards of practice.
- Conduct hourly rounds following service excellence standards.
- Foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
- Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
- Care for central lines, Foley catheters, pressure ulcers, ventilators (if applicable), restraints, and patients at risk for falls using standard work protocols.
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned and contribute to department efficiency.
- Precept novice employees and support department growth through evidence-based practices.
- Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and participation in educational offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license for South Carolina (Primary source verification required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association only).
- Proof of immunizations or titers with lab printouts (no declinations accepted) for:
- MMR (2 immunizations)
- Hepatitis B (3 immunizations)
- Varicella (2 immunizations)
- Influenza vaccine recommended (required September–April; medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case).
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes, or
- Annual negative PPD or TB questionnaire as applicable.
- Negative chest X-ray if positive PPD, completed within 90 days of start.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (rapid drug screen not accepted).
- Valid driver’s license or state ID.
- Social Security card copy.
- Criminal background check covering last 7 years including county, statewide, national searches, and education verification, updated annually.
- Employment verification for the past 5 years.
- Completion of clinical skills checklist prior to start, updated annually.
- Submission of resume/profile; references preferred but not required.
Additional Information
- Fit test for respiratory protection required within one year of start (optional but recommended).
- Confirmation of assignment form required prior to start.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience required in Physical Therapy specialty.
- No prior travel experience explicitly required.
