Registered Nurse (Operating Room) - Contract

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable day shifts with call
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and implement patient and family education, and initiate appropriate interventions. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, implementation of care, and ongoing evaluation of nursing practice aligned with professional standards.


Essential Job Functions

  • Collect and analyze comprehensive patient health data to determine diagnoses and issues
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to achieve expected outcomes
  • Promote health and maintain a safe environment
  • Continuously improve nursing practice quality and effectiveness
  • Maintain current nursing knowledge and competencies
  • Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Integrate ethical principles and research findings into nursing practice
  • Provide leadership within the professional practice setting

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • 1 year circulating experience in the OR
  • 1 year scrub experience in the OR

Stroke Competency

  • Comply with policies and protocols for hyperacute and acute stroke care
  • Complete 2 hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
  • Participate in 1 hour of annual stroke education

Additional Information

  • Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered

This position requires flexibility to cover all shifts as needed.
