Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (3 shifts of 12 hours each), every other weekend and every other holiday
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Position in Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing at a Level II trauma, Level III maternity hospital.
- The maternity unit delivers over 6,000 babies annually.
- Unit specifics: 20 LDR rooms, 7 triage beds, 4 PACU beds, and 3 ORs.
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN Recommended Staffing Guidelines:
- Labor & Delivery: 1:1, may flex to 2:1 for early labors.
- Antepartum: High-risk OB 3:1.
- Must be able to float between other women’s health departments (postpartum and high-risk OB).
- Electronic Medical Records: CareConnect (EPIC EMR), STORK, and Periwatch.
- Scrubs are provided by the department.
- Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Current certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
