Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
Total Staffed Beds: 418

Job Details
- Position does not float between units.
- No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
- Expected patient ratio: 1:1.
- Biopsy experience preferred but not required.
- Must be familiar with Hologic mammography equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Oregon
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist
- Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
Background and Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
- Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and motor vehicle record if applicable.
- State-specific searches required for Oregon and Washington if applicable.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as per specialty.
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis.
- Epic training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp).
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.

- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Physical and health documents must be current and uploaded with appropriate expiration dates.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Some state-specific attestations and background checks apply if working in Washington or Alaska.
This position offers a structured day shift with no weekend or on-call duties, ideal for Mammography Techs familiar with Hologic equipment and seeking a travel contract in a short-term acute care setting.
