Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location

  • City: Orangeburg, South Carolina

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

  • Local radius: 60 miles
  • Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing required prior to start
  • Competency exams required; pediatric OR competency preferred if applicable
  • Physical exam updated annually attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Annual TB questionnaire completion required
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Respirator medical clearance annually required for patient-facing roles
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
  • Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); documentation must be uploaded by December 5 deadline
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Background checks including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions required
  • Education verification and diploma/transcript preferred
  • Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
  • Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
  • Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start

Notes

  • Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August and September) if this is a concern.
  • Facility allows approval requests for block scheduling but does not guarantee accommodation.
  • Radiation badge not required for this position.
  • Must upload all required documentation and certifications with expiration dates beyond 30 days from start.
  • Facility uses Epic for charting and requires adherence to their specific policies and procedures.
