Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Seattle, Washington
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position requires experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
- Must have Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience.
- Weekends required every other weekend.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must have a minimum 3-month separation before qualifying for this travel position.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Pediatric patients.
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education Verification required.
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
- Fit Mask test required annually (travel only).
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for respirator use (travel only).
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment Application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned learning management system.
- Float Policy Acknowledgement: May be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
- Skills Checklist updated annually for applicable units.
- NURSYS license verification as applicable.
- WA State Patrol Search and other state-specific background checks as required by law.
Notes
- Candidates currently working at another affiliated facility with less than a 30-day gap may not require new background checks or drug screens unless expiring.
- Some certifications and requirements may be subject to verification through internal systems or clinical leads.
- Badge photo not required for this specific facility.
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists with PICU experience, requiring multiple certifications and compliance with comprehensive health and background screening protocols.
