MRI Technologist – Janesville, WI
Job Type
- Contract position
- 12-hour shifts, Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Call rotation required
- Approximately 12 weeks contract length

Job Description
- Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Work flexible hours, including alternate shifts, weekends, and call as necessary
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in committees and projects as requested
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, provide patient instruction to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety
- Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients, self, and others
- Operate MRI equipment, including magnetic resonance system, surface coils, and physiologic gating devices
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Immobilize patients as needed for examinations
- Select appropriate pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition factors
- Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access, and prepare/administer contrast media
- Verify consent and screening forms using appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers
- Assist physicians with interventional procedures
- Practice aseptic technique and observe universal precautions
- Evaluate image quality and manipulate/reconstruct digital data for display with proper identification
- Provide for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures
- Use radiology information systems (including PACS) to complete records, reports, and submit images for review
- Initiate basic life support when necessary
- Provide practical instruction to partners and students
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program (education verification required)
- Experience as an MRI Technologist
- ARRT Radiography registration
- ARRT MRI registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

- 40 hours per week
- Prior travel experience is not specified or required
